Chandler Advisory Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by educator, author, and creative entrepreneur Zaria C. Chandler. Chan Clan is the name young people, families, and schools know us by.
To shift how children of color see themselves, what they believe is possible, and how they move within their communities.

One organization. Two names.
Chandler Advisory Inc.
The 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It holds the programs, partnerships, grants, and educator development work, and it is the organization funders and districts contract with.
Chan Clan
The youth and community brand. It is what students wear, what they join, and what they call it when they tell their friends where they have been.
Culture isn't the distraction. It's the doorway.
We don't believe young people need to leave their culture at the classroom door in order to learn. Music, fashion, money, sports, neighborhoods, social media, art, design, family, language, work, and entrepreneurship are all ways into serious learning.
Culture is content.
What students already know is material to build on, not noise to manage.
Rigor stays.
Relevance is how we get to hard math, strong writing, and real skill. It never replaces them.
Young people make real things.
Products, performances, photographs, and plans that exist after the session ends.
We name what's there.
We describe young people by their intelligence, creativity, and voice, not by what someone says they lack.

Zaria C. Chandler earned her bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Spelman College and has worked across classrooms, tutoring, curriculum development, arts programming, and youth development.
She is also a former professional dancer and a creative entrepreneur. None of that sits off to the side. Rehearsal, pattern, performance, ownership, and Black culture show up in everything Chan Clan builds, because they show up in everything she has done.
She is the author of Hip Hop Mic Drop Vol. I and the founder of Chandler Advisory Inc.
